Willows Wellsch Orr & Brundige LLP was created on July 1st, 2012 when Greg Willows, Scott Mazinke, and Tim Beler joined in partnership with Hal Wellsch, Don Orr, Dave Brundige and Paul Malone. However, the history of the partners in the firm was interlinked forty years earlier. Greg Willows articled to Barry Stewart, the founder of Stewart Johnson law firm. That firm merged with Rendek McCrank in 2003 to create McCrank Stewart Johnson – the predecessor firm to Willows Wellsch Orr & Brundige.
The Rendek McCrank firm has an even longer lineage in Saskatchewan legal community. It was the successor firm to the Wimmer Toews Kaufman law firm, which was established in 1972. Nicholas Kaufman Q.C. and Richard Rendek Q.C., former partners in the various incarnations of the firm, both retired from the practice of law in 2011 after having spent over 50 years at the Bar. Mr. Kaufman’s and Mr. Rendek’s tradition of legal excellence and quality service to their clients is carried on by the firm and is the foundation for our commitment to success.
This commitment is recognized by the fact that four previous members of our firm have been appointed as judges to the Saskatchewan Bench and numerous members of the firm have been honoured with Queen’s and King’s Counsel designations, including two present partners. At 50 years since its initial inception, our firm has come full circle and looks forward to further growth and expansion.
